Everything is yours

It is possible you have collided with something more unyielding than yourself

which has the power to chisel a crack in your outer layer

revealing within, a soft soufflé

and that in this state where you are most affected by everything

you walk the softest

so as not to make a sound, or disturb the delicate soil

so as not to disrupt the perfection and balance you suddenly observe

You are stunned into reverence

and in your reverence you’ll find either that

you trust this moment to linger for as long as it needs

to do it’s work upon your being

or that terror grips you

Terror of losing it

and being thrust back into the numbness and familiarity you disdain

But remember, everything is yours

and there is no cause for running toward or away from any of it

It is always on its way to you

ready to reveal itself in forms more pleasing

and more poignantly disappointing

than you ever could have designed

if it had been up to you
